We demonstrate a compact, single-etched sub-wavelength grating coupler for the O-band application, which has a measured insertion loss of −4 dB, a 3-dB bandwidth of 39 nm, back reflections below −20 dB, and a design footprint of 20um × 40um.
We demonstrate a broadband sub-wavelength grating coupler for the O-band application, which has a simulated coupling efficiency of −3.3 dB with 3-dB bandwidth of 78 nm and a measured coupling efficiency of −4.5 dB with a 3-dB bandwidth of 65 nm for fundamental TE mode.
Based on the probability of memberships estimated by RVM (relevance vector machine) basic model, probabilistic output approaches for multi-class memberships in one-against-all strategy by multivariate sigmoid function and in one-against-one strategy by pairwise coupling are presented respectively. Experiment results based on artificial Gauss datasets and UCI datasets show the proposed approaches can...
Innovation network is a prime source of innovation performance and a hot topic in research. However, nearly all empirical study stands on the impact of individual network attribute on innovative performance. We propose a different, holistic framework, which posits that innovation performance doesn't depend on individual network attribute, but on specific configurations of such attributes. This study...
This paper presents the design and characterization of a wideband bandpass filter for millimetre-wave D-band application. The filter is implemented on a three-layer thin film structure using benzocyclobutene (BCB) silicon technology. Two stepped-impedance resonators are used to construct the bandpass filter, while the input/output coupling is achieved by coplanar waveguide (CPW) to stripline transition...
The influence of time delay and noise on critical coupling parameter in the synchronization of small world neural networks is investigated. We find that the time delay and noise play important role in synchronization of this extended system. We find that the time delay presents, the quality of the synchronization of neural network worsens. However, the present of noise results more worsens in the...
This paper describes a system comprising two heaters closely located, whose characteristics such as temperature-coupling and long adjustment time cause unsatisfactory performance when using conventional control methods. A modeling and control method has been developed for this system, that is: a decoupling compensator is designed to diagonalize the transfer function matrix of the controlled object...
Photoluminescence at 1.53 um from Er: SiNx on silicon photonic crystal cavities was extracted via fiber tapers with 2.5 x greater collection efficiency compared to free space emission. Fibers were also used to demonstrate a 10 nm tuning range of 750 nm SHG emission from GaP cavities.
