This paper describes the modeling, design and performance of 30 GHz low noise amplifiers (LNAs) integrated with slot antennas on GaAs monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs). Various designs are compared, showing the tradeoffs between achievable noise figure, gain and overall chip size.
In this contribution, we explore the application of the recently proposed nested equivalence source approximation method to the MFIE operator. We find the radial direction of the equivalence source should be removed to obtain better precision. The impedance matrix approximation precision is tested in detail. Error-controllable approximation of the MFIE operator is the key to extend the NESA to homogenous...
The publication discusses implementation of back-to-back line commutated converter schemes without DC smoothing reactors and the associated design considerations. The areas reviewed include steady state performance of the scheme namely AC harmonics due to close DC coupling between the two terminals and dynamic performance i.e. scheme performance for a voltage dip in the inverter end AC system.
A Time Domain Integral Equation (TDIE) approach combined with Impedance Boundary Condition (IBC) for analysis of transient scattering by conductors coated with absorbing material is developed. The IBC is considered to be dependent on local incident direction and polarization property. Numerical results are compared with the analytical MIE series solutions and found in good agreements, demonstrating...
In this paper, the UV method is utilized to reduce both the memory requirement and computational complexity in time-domain combined field integral equation (TD-CFIE) method to analyze scattering from arbitrarily shaped conducting structures. The UV method takes advantage of the rank-deficiency feature and it is kernel-independent. Different orders of weighted Laguerre polynomials are used as temporal...
