Multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) technique is considered as one of the most promising wireless technologies that can significantly improve transmission capacity and reliability. Many emerging mobile wireless applications require peer-to-peer transmissions over an ad hoc network, where the nodes often have different number of antennas, and the channel condition and network topology vary over...
A compact and planar dual-antenna structure is reported which combines a printed monopole and a half-slot antenna to provide dual polarization. Different excited current modes are utilized to obtain low mutual coupling between elements. A prototype is fabricated and the measured results are presented. Relative bandwidth of 23.5% and isolation of better than 23 dB are achieved.
We propose ORCHESTRA, a channel access protocol that uses reservations and virtual MIMO to provide high throughput and bounded channel access delays. Channel access process is divided into a contention-based access period and a scheduled access period. To attain high throughput, nodes build the channel schedule using the contention-based access period, and utilize the spatial multiplexing gain of...
Differential unitary space-frequency modulation reduces the complexity of multiple-input multiple-output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems significantly. But the conventional single symbol differential detection (SSDD) results in a high error floor over a severe multipath spreading channel. To overcome this limitation, a multiple symbol differential stack algorithm is...
