We demonstrate a cost-effective WDM source for broadcast service using a reflective modulator (such as F-P LD or RSOA) with ASE injection. This optical source provides simple and high capacity broadcast services with direct modulation.
We demonstrate an automatic wavelength control method using Rayleigh backscattering and wavelength modulation for tunable lasers in a WDM-PON. By measuring the spectrum of backscattered light, we identified and tracked the allocated wavelength.
Based on a low-cost injection locked F-P LD WDM-PON, we have implemented a multicast network for video signal at 19.2Mbps and measured the packet loss.
WDM-PON can deliver huge bandwidth to customer premises with protocol transparency. This feature enables application of WDM-PON beyond last mile access. The colorless transceiver can simplify management of system considerably.
We demonstrate 40-km-reach 32-channel gigabit wavelength division multiplexing-passive optical network (WDM-PON) based on Fabry-Perot laser diode with external ASE injection. The dispersion, back-reflection and crosstalk effects in WDM-PON are also investigated.
We propose a novel WDM source for broadcast service using a low-cost Fabry-Perot LD with broadband ASE injection. The proposed optical source provides a cost-effective WDM-PON architecture for broadcast service accommodating more than 32times622 Mb/s.
We demonstrate a 40 Gb/s capacity (1.25 Gb/s times 32 channel) WDM-PON based on wavelength locked Fabry-Perot laser diodes with a high immunity to the optical back reflection.
