This paper treats the Fault Estimation (FE) problem using a data-projection method. An on-line fast fault estimation procedure is proposed using input-output data collected on-line and off-line. The model structure of the system (linear, bilinear,…) is supposed to be known but the model parameters values are not needed. No prior model parameter estimation procedure is required. The method was presented...
This paper is concerned with Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) and more specifically it focuses on a parameter-free residual generation method. The residual signals are obtained by projecting the measured signals onto the kernel of an extended input matrix, which depends on the structure of the system model. The method was not easily applicable in real-world applications due to a high computational...
Robust sensor Fault Detection and Isolation for nonlinear system using partial knowledge of the system is proposed in the paper. First, a suitable Takagi-Sugeno model for uncertain nonlinear system is determined using sector nonlinear method. Then the matrix input-output relation is given and the robust FDI residual is computed by projecting the relation onto the Kernel of the predetermined matrix.
The proposed data-based FDI method has the advantage to require only available data: control signals and measured outputs. The unique information that we have about the system is its structure but the parameters values are supposed to be unknown. This data-based residual method was described, by the same authors in previous publication, for linear systems. In this paper we apply this method to bilinear...
Switching detection and active mode recognition in Hybrid Dynamical Systems (HDS) with nonlinear continuous dynamics are considered in this paper. The nonlinear modes are represented by Takagi-Sugeno models. Two methods based on projection techniques are proposed to generate a bank of residuals which are mode indicators: the first one is the well-known parity space method which uses the TS model parameters,...
This paper addresses the problem of Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) of switching systems where faulty behaviours are represented as faulty modes. The objectives of the on-line FDI are to identify accurately the current mode and to estimate precisely the switching time. A data-based method is considered here to generate residuals that will be used for FDI. The discernibility condition between modes...
