We describe a method for bi-directional conversion between fundamental Gaussian beams and spatially polarized beams using a spatial light modulator with angular sliced phase pattern.
We propose a novel method for light path tracing and demonstrate it in 112Gb/s DP-16QAM transmission. The S/N of the detected label exceeds 24dB after 20span transmission. No crosstalk was observed in neighboring DWDM channels.
By considering PMD-induced relative state of polarization (RSOP) change among different channels in WDM system, a fast method is proposed to estimate XPM impact under PMD. Its estimated Q value fits well to the simulation based on time-consuming Split Step Fourier Method for PDM-QPSK format, with less than 0.1dB difference.
