In this paper, we review our recent progress in optical wireless communication systems incorporating infra-red free-space link for in-building personal area networks. We have previously demonstrated a high-speed infrared optical wireless system incorporating localization function that enables limited mobility. Our system is based on light-of-sight transmission but with slightly diffused beam to relax...
In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate a full-duplex high-speed indoor optical wireless communication system with 16 Carrierless-Amplitude-Phase (CAP) modulation. Results show that 10 Gb/s downlink and 2 Gb/s uplink can be realized simultaneously.
High-speed wireless connectivity in personal areas is highly demanded and the optical wireless technology is a promising solution. In this paper, recent progress of high-speed optical wireless communication systems in personal area networks is briefly reviewed.
A novel high-speed optical wireless communication system for indoor personal area networking applications is proposed and studied. A proof-of-concept experiment at 12.5-Gb/s wireless transmission has been successfully demonstrated with limited mobility. When integrated with a WiFi-based localization system, high-speed optical wireless communication with a mobility feature can be achieved over the...
