Here described a copper‐catalyzed direct chlorination and bromination of anilides in the presence of N‐fluorobenzenesulfonimide as oxidant. This protocol shows excellent regioselectivity and mono‐substitution with inexpensive KCl or NaBr as the halogen source and industrially friendly solvent.
