A 32x32 optical RoF switch is demonstrated. A 13 dB input dynamic range with acceptable EVM and, using open loop control, an input dynamic range of 10 dB with 1 dB variation in output RF power is achieved.
A practical non-blocking 32times32 SOA based switch architecture is presented which minimises the number of required cascaded stages while also requiring relatively few SOAs. This switch is robust and suitable for 8times10 Gb/s wavelength striped operation.
