We demonstrate a bidirectional ROF system using a separate optical-clock distribution to mitigate signal-fading and code time-shifting. Error-free signal remodulation using downlink DPSK and uplink OOK was achieved in a 20-km reach ROF system.
We quantify the performance of OFDM-QAM signal when subjected to the noise produced by the carrier-generated and signal-generated Rayleigh backscattering that are present in the carrier-distributed WDM-PONs.
We present a performance analysis of a Rayleigh-noise-mitigation scheme for carrier-distributed PON, named PM-NRZ, at different AWG offsets and profiles; and at different channel separations, showing different tradeoffs in achieving DWDM operation.
