This paper presents permanent magnet synchronous machines with short circuit of turns. Two-dimensional (2-D) finite element analysis (FEA) is used to simulation of PMSM under fault. PMSM is working at nominal condition and speed change of 5000 rpm. Relationships between stator-current-induced harmonics were investigated by means of Fourier (FFT) and discrete wavelet transforms (DWT). The simulation...
This paper presents the study of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM) running with eccentricity and bearings damage. The objective is to detect and identify the fault through the current signature analysis. The stator current has been analyzed by means of both Fourier (FFT) and Discrete Wavelet (DWT) transforms. Simulations have been carried out with a two-dimensional (2-D) finite element...
Motor current signature analysis has been successfully used in induction machines for fault diagnosis. The method however does not always achieve good results when the load torque is not constant. This paper proposes a new approach to motor fault detection, by wavelet decomposition analysis. Theoretical development and experimental results are presented to support the research.
