We report on the acousto-optic interaction in a newly developed high-polarization-splitting fiber designed to lift the degeneracy of its cladding modes and on an all-fiber acousto-optic tunable bandpass filters based on this fiber.
We generate radially-polarised beams, for the first time with a novel, phase-engineered fiber that possesses these spatial patterns as stable eigenmodes. With conversion-efficiencies >99.7%, this is an attractive alternative to complex free-space techniques used currently.
We demonstrate a tunable polarisation-dependent-loss compensator using a novel LPG-device, The PDL can be tuned continuously from 0 to 20 dB over a 10-nm bandwidth. The device enables practical implementation of PDL management in systems
