We developed ODU-XC, CDC-ROADM, and silicon photonics switch, and built an eight-node network capable of 90Tbps based on NSI-CS standard protocol. Its energy consumption was orders of magnitude lower than that achievable with IP routers.
Characteristics of all-optical node connections with an optical regenerator and wavelength converter are studied. The reachability of 43-Gb/s commercial transponders is extended by the optical regenerator compensating the spectral narrowing due to WSS cascade.
We present a novel bandwidth-elastic and power-efficient coherent NG-PON based on coherent interleaved frequency division multiple access (IFDMA) and experimentally demonstrate the 2xONUs uplink transmission, exhibiting capabilities of the elastic bandwidth provisioning and CFO compensation.
A flexible and compact hierarchical optical cross-connect (HOXC) node that considers a practical waveband add/drop restriction is proposed. We introduce a prototype HOXC system and verify its technical feasibility and transmission characteristics.
A compact waveband cross-connect switch module is demonstrated that will be utilized for creating cost-effective multidegree optical cross-connect nodes. Its performance confirms the practical applicability of the developed module.
In this paper an embedded computer based autonomous robot for pipe inspection is presented. Robot propulsion mechanism and power system and its protection system are designed. To avoid of getting stuck in pipe a new emergency release mechanism proposed. The practical field tests show that the robot performs well and can do pipe inspection properly and the robot moves gracefully not only at straight...
