We demonstrate the two-photon resonant excitation of the doubly excited 2p21S state in helium atoms by the combination of 29.5- and 32.6-eV harmonic photons. Our ab-initio calculation confirms the nonlinear excitation by high harmonics.
We theoretically show that the effects of the carrier-envelope-phase is significant even in the multiphoton ionization regime with an essential difference on the phase-dependent dynamics compared with the tunneling ionization regime.
