We have investigated L-band dispersion-managed mode-locked (DMML) fiber laser incorporating carbon-nanotube saturable absorbers. For the first time, the DMML fiber laser operates at 1595 nm with the net cavity dispersion changing from −0.34 to −0.20 ps2, showing that the spectral bandwidth can be broadened by 39%.
We have demonstrated a thulium-doped mode-locked fiber laser incorporating carbon-nanotube-based saturable absorber (CNT-SA) with ring pattern for the first time. The mode-locking operation can be maintained an intracavity average power of 37.8 mW, indicating that CNT with ring pattern can enhance the thermal damage threshold of SAs near 2 μm.
We experimentally demonstrated a high-order optical vortex pulsed laser based on a mode selective all-fiber fused coupler composed of a single-mode fiber (SMF) and a few-mode fiber (FMF). The fused SMF-FMF coupler inserted in the cavity acts as a mode converter from LP$_{01}$ mode to LP$_{11}$ (LP$_{21}$) mode with a broadband width. Linearly polarized OAM modes can be obtained by combining different...
