A conformal switchable antenna system mounted on a cylindrical surface is proposed, simulated, prototyped and measured. The antenna system is composed of several tri-polarization antennas operating at 2.4 GHz band. It is shown that this antenna system realizes a quasi-isotropic pattern without any nulls over a complete spherical surface. Specifically, it is shown that by using three tri-polarization...
A dual-port conformal diversity patch antenna with different radiation characteristics has been presented. By making use of hybrid feeds, the conical TM01 mode and the broadside TM11 mode of the antenna could be excited at the same frequencies. With this feeding scheme, both pattern and polarization diversities can be exploited and high isolation (<;-55dB) between the two ports can be achieved...
This paper presents a novel design of compact dual-polarized antenna incorporating an aperture-coupled annular ring patch antenna for left-handed circular polarization (LHCP) as well as a disk-loaded monopole vertical polarized (VP) antenna. Both antennas operate in the same frequency range from 2.320GHz to 2.345GHz, while CP antenna reveals good broadside radiation patterns and the VP antenna shows...
A novel wrist conformal dual-band antenna structure is proposed for application in watch-type wireless devices. Simulation results show that this structure can achieve good performance in dual GSM bands and high efficiency when worn on hand. Based on this structure, a dual-element diversity antenna is also proposed. More research regarding this novel structure will be done in the future.
This paper proposes a novel conformal tri-polarization antenna which has three independent ports and three orthogonal polarizations. To verify the design, a prototype antenna was manufactured and measured. The measured VSWR 3:1 bandwidth covers 150 MHz. The antenna consists of three stack layers. The total height of the antenna is 10 mm.
