It has been previously demonstrated in optical fiber that superimposed chirped gratings can be used to implement multi-frequency transmission filters. In this paper, we propose an equivalent electrical implementation of this structure for use in microstrip technology. In an analogous fashion to an optical fiber grating, we modulate the strip-width of a 50-ohm microstrip according to the sum of two...
We present an analog system capable of undistorted temporal magnification and compression of an arbitrary time-windowed electrical signal. The system is composed of three low-loss, high dispersion microstrip elements and an analog multiplier. Simulation results are presented demonstrating the 5X magnification of a 0.6 ns signal.
We describe a passive planar waveguide electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure yielding linear dispersion for microwave and mm-wave (60 GHz) signals. We also propose a recirculating architecture for increasing the effective dispersion of existing EBG structures.
