Late Paleozoic High-Mg dioritic dikes widely occur in western Junggar, NW China. Ar–Ar dating on rock chips of the dikes has yielded a plateau age of 321±3 Ma, indicating an early Carboniferous age for the dikes. The dikes are enriched in SiO 2 (52–57 wt.%), and characterized by high MgO (5.13–7.41 wt.%), Cr (134–204 ppm), Ni (59–141 ppm), Sr (468–724 ppm) and Ba (316–676 ppm) contents, with...
Voluminous granitic intrusions are distributed in the West Junggar, NW China, and they can be classified as the dioritic rocks, charnockite and alkali-feldspar granite groups. The dioritic rocks (SiO 2 =50.4–63.8wt.%) are calc-alkaline and Mg enriched (average MgO=4.54wt.%, Mg # =0.39–0.64), with high Sr/Y ratios (average=21.2), weak negative Eu (average Eu⁎/Eu=0.80) and pronounced...
The Sawuer region is located in the west Junggar, Jimunai County of Altay district and Hefeng County of Tacheng district, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, in northwest China. In the study area granitic intrusions are widespread and can be subdivided into I-type granites (Tasite pluton, Sentasi pluton, Wokensala pluton and Kaerjia pluton) and A-type (A 2 ) granites (Kuoyitasi pluton and Qiaqihai...
