Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was used to simulate the flow field over two generic sedans moving in sequence. The simulation was based on a steady state formulation and the focus of the simulation was to analyze the aerodynamic interaction of flow field around the two sedans. Detailed comparisons of aerodynamic feature of the corresponding parts were made among the first sedan, the second sedan...
Viaducts are widely built in the modern high speed railway system. The noise barrier will have some effect on the aerodynamic characteristics of the high speed train running on the double line viaduct. It is essential that the research on this effect will be made. It will provide some engineering reference for the high speed railway construction. Using the CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) soft Fluent,...
The purpose of this paper is to assess the performance of different front-end configurations for a minivan under development. The Fluent CFD code is used to model the under-hood airflow for the vehicle. The cooling performance is found to be sensitive to changes in the fascia geometry particularly the lower parts in front-end configurations for the minivane.
