The use of 2-pyridyl oximes (L’H) in reactions with [Mn3IIIO(O2CR)6(py)3](ClO4) has led to complexes [Mn3IIIO(O2CR)3L3′](ClO4). Ferromagnetic exchange interactions between the three Mn III ions in the complexes lead to spin ground states of S=6. The complexes display the temperature- and scan rate-dependent hysteresis loops that are indicative of single-molecule magnetism behaviour.
