We have generated the backward terahertz pulses with record-high average powers of 2.3-11 muW and narrowest bandwidth of 6 GHz from multi-grating periodically-poled lithium niobate by optical rectification at room temperature.
We have investigated power scaling for the efficient generation of the broadband terahertz (THz) pulses. These THz short pulses are converted from ultrafast laser pulses propagating in a class of semiconductor electrooptic materials. By measuring the dependence of the THz output on the pump beam in terms of incident angle, polarization, azimuthal angle, and pump intensity, we have precisely determined...
For the first time we have measured the spectrum of two-photon absorption coefficient for GaAs based on Z-scan technique. We have observed a peculiar feature in the spectrum and compared our results with the two previous discrete values.
