The solubilities of AgCl and AgBr in aqueous HCl and HBr were determined between 298 and 368 K. The temperature-dependent solubility data were used to develop a method for purifying AgCl and AgBr by crystallization from solution. The impurity content of the resultant crystals was 10–5to 10–6wt %.
