Elliptic curve cryptosystems are suitable for memory-constraint devices like smart cards due to their small key-size. A novel approach is proposed for securing elliptic curve scalar multiplication against power analysis attacks. Based on the highest-weight binary form of a scalar and randomization techniques, the proposed algorithm do not suffer from common power analysis attacks simultaneously. Our...
This paper presents a comprehensive approach to accelerate elliptic curve scalar multiplication with unified doublingaddition. Using Meloni's formula that efficiently adds two points with the same z-coordinate, we develop an efficient right-to-left double-add algorithm against a large variety of side channel attacks. Comparisons show that our proposed algorithm establishes a faster scalar multiplication.
