The reflection phase feature of an EBG structure which has two different in-phase reflection phase features is studied in this paper. This EBG structure is applied as high impedance ground plane (HIP) to a low profile inverted L antenna. The simulation results show that due to the EBG structure, the inverted L antenna can operate at dual-frequency bands and have the characteristic of low profile.
