The non-recurrent congestion caused by incident happens frequently in urban traffic network and influences normal operation of traffic system greatly, so that studying on congestion control strategies under propagation of non-recurrent congestion is very important. The aim of this dissertation is to investigate the spatio-temporal distribution of traffic flow and location of variable message sign...
Effective control strategies are required to disperse incident-based traffic jams in urban networks when dispersal cannot be achieved simply by removing the obstruction. This paper develops a selection of such control strategies and demonstrates their effectiveness in dispersing incident-based traffic jams in two-way rectangular grid networks. Using the spatial topology of traffic jam propagation,...
The optimal adjustment problem for high speed passenger train operations is considered in this paper. The problem is formulated as 0-1 integer programming model to get the optimal organization of train operations. In addition, a high computation speed heuristic algorithm is proposed in order to get a near optimal solution for the problem.
