Fuzzy decision tree (FDT) is a powerful, top-down, hierarchical search methodology to extract human interpretable classification rules. However, it is poor in classification accuracy. In this paper, neural networks-fuzzy decision tree (Neuro-FDT) is constructed using the method of Rajen B.Bhatt and Gopal: a fuzzy decision tree structure with neural like parameter adaptation strategy. The method improves...
This paper presents the design and implementation of a real-time behavior profiling system for high-speed Internet links. The profiling system uses flow-level information from continuous packet or flow monitoring systems, and uses data mining and information-theoretic techniques to automatically discover significant events based on the communication patterns of end-hosts. We demonstrate the operational...
Attributes reduction is one of the most important subjects of knowledge discovery in information systems. As an approach of attributes reduction, binary discernibility matrices have many interesting properties. Due to the disadvantage of binary discernibility matrices in dealing with variable precision rough set (VPRS), this paper presents an approach to knowledge reduction based on the binary discernibility...
A modified particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed in this paper to avoid premature convergence with the introduction of mutation operation. The performance of this algorithm is compared to the standard PSO algorithm and experiments indicate that it has better performance with little overhead.
