The feasibility of multicast capable ROADM supporting optical multicast of any wavelength in any fiber is experimentally demonstrated. We implement fully-reconfigurable MC-ROADM, and evaluate multicasting performances by fully loading 40 x 10 Gb/s WDM signals.
A reconfigurable-optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) provides network flexibility and remote provisioning of end-to-end connection via ASON/GMPLS control, which opens the possibility of dynamic construction of multicast trees in optical layer. In this paper, we discuss multicast capable ROADM based on wavelength-selective switch (WSS) and review its experimental results of feasibility demonstration.
We show practical implementation of interactive data broadcasting services in IPTV over the NGN by adopting multi-connected multicasting with unicasting. Proposed implementation design method supports many interactive data services in one channel without channel change.
