We measured the iron loss distribution in permanent magnet motors at different speeds by using a thermographic camera, which is capable of taking wide measurements. Both the measured motor and drive motor were placed in a vacuum chamber to reduce thermal disturbance. This motor winding has not been used for the measurement. The permanent magnet rotor was used to excite the stator.
This paper presents analyzed results of a permanent magnet motor by using complex E&S modeling. The calculated results are compared with ones of the conventional E&S modeling for verification.
