An idea of a radar for measurements of small distances operating in a millimeter band is presented in the paper. Phase ring detectors were used for radar development which simplified radar structure. Algorithms for conversion of output voltages in the microwave part of the radar are also presented.
A procedure for active element linearization via derivative superposition used for MESFET transistors is discussed in the paper. A method for description of transient characteristics of microwave field MESFET transistors, other than classic one, is presented. A solutions of a circuit for a microwave amplifier of high linearity and its characteristics obtained via simulation are also shown.
The broadband microwave phase detector with diode ring discussed in the paper can be also used as a frequency detector. Operation principle for frequency detectors of the sine and cosine type are presented. Structures of multichannel frequency discriminators including sine and cosine type detectors and their features are also shown.
In the paper a design of noise generator with a possibility of a changing generated signal value by spectral power density is presented. The generator can be used, among others, in balanced radiometers as a reference source. The presented noise generator is characterized by high stability of output power which can be electronically controlled. Experimental results are also shown.
The main elements of detecting and warning systems used to detect and measure parameters of signals radiated by different sources of energy are specialized receivers. They contain antenna arrays and signal forming circuits. The paper introduces an eight port Butler matrix design of signal forming circuit. The method and results of theoretical analysis as well as results of measurements in the range...
A balanced radiometer for medical applications is described. The accuracy of temperature measurements doesn't depend on the reflection coefficient. Compensation of the reflection coefficient can be achieved considering losses in the transmission lines and switch. Experimental results are also presented.
