We report first experimental demonstration on the non-transparent characteristic of FWM using NRZDPSK, RZ-DPSK, CSRZ-DPSK, and CSRZ signals. One potential non-transparency application of 40 Gbit/s CSRZ-to-RZ format conversion is experimentally demonstrated.
Ultra-fast self-routing of DPSK signals is demonstrated using a single processor for multiple spectral codes based on four-wave-mixing and selective filtering. A family of 10 codes with maximum bin separation for 10 and 20 Gb/s rates is demonstrated.
A novel ultrafast self routing system is demonstrated using four-wave-mixing of 10 Gb/s packets spectrally-encoded in 25 GHz grid bins which are unequally spaced. Codes with a maximum separation of 1.6 nm enable routing to 10 different ports.
