We study the coexistence of FDD flexible duplexing systems, where a cellular network may use FDD uplink band for downlink transmission. As a result, adjacent channel emissions will change, with an effect to networks operating on adjacent channels. To stabilize the adjacent channel interference, equalizing downlink power control is considered, such that a flexible duplexing cell radiates in downlink...
In this paper the results of intensive measurement campaigns performed inside the buildings in two locations (Poznań, Poland and Barcelona, Spain) are presented and analyzed to investigate their potential in the generation of digital indoor radio environment maps. The existence of such detailed and stable maps will allow for further definition of the allowed transmit power of small cell transceivers...
This work analyses the feasibility of building an indoor Radio Environment Map (REM) for supporting the deployment of indoor small cells acting as secondary transmitters in the TVWS band. For that purpose, it proposes a structure of the REM database for computing the maximum allowed transmit powers not to interfere with TV receivers. The proposed framework is validated by means of real measurements...
Bit-Power Loading (BPL) algorithms are proposed based on Effective SINR Mapping (ESM) techniques. The ESM techniques used are the Exponential ESM (EESM) as well as the Mean Mutual Information per Bit (MMIB). The algorithms are based on proper usage and modifications of algorithms already proposed in the literature, applied to ESM compatible link-level performance models. The performance gain when...
A new simple, yet effective two-step bit-and-power-loading algorithm is described for multicarrier transmission. The coarse bit and power allocation to the subcarriers is done at the first step by the means of the direct mapping of the transmit power or bits with regard to the channel gains. Three ways of the final power and bit assignment are proposed at the second step. The algorithm reaches the...
In this paper new bit and power loading (BPL) algorithm is presented, which is suitable for application in non-orthogonal multicarrier (NOMC) systems. Its main idea bases on the J. Campello's approach, originally designed for orthogonal multicarrier systems, like orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). In the proposed solution, the NOMC-specific features are considered, i.e. two-dimensional...
In this paper, a novel pragmatic bit and power allocation algorithm for Non Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (NOFDM) systems is presented. It is based on the well-known Campello approach and takes into account the lack of orthogonality between adjacent waveforms. Simulation results in a typical NOFDM wireless applicative scenario show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.
In this paper, the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) metric and other metrics reflecting nonlinear distortions caused by a nonlinear element are presented. To avoid the drawbacks and ambiguity of some well-known frequently quoted metrics an attempt to reveal the influence of nonlinear elements on the transmitted signal is made, what leads to more reliable assessment of the phenomena of the occurrence...
