For the application of field emission (FE), W18O49 nanostructures have exhibited excellent FE behaviors among tungsten oxides, which promise a much better future. However, many difficulties remain to be overcome in their application in devices. One of them is that synthesis of nanostructures in uniform W18O49 phase is difficult; tungsten oxides have tens of different phases, which can results in their...
In this paper, individual molybdenum nanotip electrical properties and field emission are studied. Molybdenum nanotips are synthesis on stainless steel substrate by the method of thermal vapor deposition in a chamber with the vacuum of 7 Pa and are characterized by SEM, TEM and EDS.
A growing number of one-dimensional nanomaterials including nanotubes, nanorods and nanowires have been synthesized and found to give attractive field electron emission performance. Field emission from a two-dimensional (2D) regime is emerging as new hot topic, due to graphene can offer ones such opportunity, and its open surface and sharp edge may be beneficial for field emission. Two-dimensional...
The authors have developed a new method to fabricate patterned W18O49 nanowire arrays by combination of thermal evaporation and lift-off technology. It is found that the phosphoric acid processing of the lift-off technology has strong effect on the field emission property of W18O49 nanowires.
Here we have successfully synthesized patterned W18O49 nanowire arrays in large scale by lift-off way, which has described in our report also to this conference. In order to remove the aluminum oxide layer, the sample was put into the phosphoric acid with a concentration of 60 % (volume ratio). The treatment time in 90°C water bath was usually about 4 hours. The treated and untreated tungsten oxide...
In the present work, we presented our findings on enhancing field emission of low temperature solution phase grown ZnO NWs by using diamond like carbon (DLC) thin film.
