Three groups of 25 female rats each were dosed ad libitum with a sodium fluoride solution containing 0 mg F/dm³, 20 mg F/dm³, and 40 mg F/dm³ in the drinking water 3 to 5 weeks before pregnancy and 3 weeks after insemination. The doses used did not produce any teratogenic effect except for the highest dose (40 mg/dm³) producing foetus abnormalities in a few cases.
