Photoinduced optiсal second harmonic generation was studied in nanocrystalline SiC films prepared by the method of direct ion deposition. For the studies were chosen three types of polytypes (with different degree of hexagonality) – 24R with degree hexagonality G=25, 27R-G=44, 33R with – G=36. The bicolor photoinduced treatment was performed by the wavelengths 1064nm/532 nm by 15ns YAG:Nd laser. The...
We report on our experiments on nonlinear magneto-optical effects in laser-cooled, near-degenerate rubidium samples. Atoms are laser-cooled and subsequently transferred to the crossed-beam optical dipole trap (ODT), formed by a tight focusing of 1560-nm laser beams. The trap not only provides long relaxation time but also allows us to investigate the quantum degeneracy regime. Moreover, the tight...
Nonlinear magneto-optical rotation (NMOR), an all-optical technique now finding its use in sensitive magnetometry, is light-intensity-dependent rotation of the polarization plane of linearly polarized light upon its propagation through a medium placed in a magnetic field. NMOR technique enables measurements of magnetic field from 0 to 50 muT with the expected sensitivity of 10-14 T Hz-1/2.
