This paper presents photoelectrochemical properties of multi-walled carbon nanotube assembled with CdSe quantum dots. CdSe QDs are adsorbed on the surface of MWCNTs with a diameter of 4-5 nm.
In this paper, fabrication and characterization of QDSSCs based on CNT doped TiO2 mesopores film were reported. The improved efficiency is obtained for the device using CNT/TiO2/CdSe as the photoanode. The QDSSCs based on bare TiO2 and CNT doped TiO2 were named as sample A and B.
Aligned CNT bundle emitters in different density are prepared by MPCVD. The reaction pressure is the most important factor, which is responsible for the density of CNT bundles. Based on our results, the etching time of the H2 plasma has much effect on the aligned growth of the CNT bundles. Controlled growth of the aligned CNT bundles in different density is necessary for the application of CNTs in...
We report on the development of new elastomers and processes that utilize polymers such as PDMS, FSR (force sensitive resistor) polymer, MWCNT, and polyurethane to realize bioinspired sensors such as artificial haircells. In nature, haircell sensors are used by fish to sense flow, by spiders to sense vibration, and by some vertebrates for hearing and acoustics. An artificial haircell sensor is designed...
The performance of polyurethane (PU) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) elastomers are compared in a battery of tests showing that the two PU formulations tested compare very favorably with PDMS mechanically and in terms of adhesion, while sacrificing some resistance to solvents and chemicals. PU is then used to form the structure and sensing elements of an all-polymer artificial hair cell. The demonstrated...
We present linear arid nonlinear optical characteristics as well as electrical properties of photonic crystals and their inverse structures, which are made of conductive polymers imbedded with single wall carbon nanotubes.
