In this study, we achieve extension of electronically tuned wavelength region to the mid-infrared region with difference-frequency generation (DFG) of the two wavelengths oscillated Ti:sapphire laser.
Transmittance and damage threshold in cerium-doped KTP were measured with dependence on cerium concentration. These optical properties were remarkably improved by cerium doping and conversion efficiency in second harmonic generation was reached to 70%.
1-ms wavelength-switching in a mid-infrared range was achieved by difference-frequency mixing in an In-doped AgGaS/sub 2/ crystal. Tuning range was shifted to a longer wavelength region maintaining noncritical phase-matching with increase of indium concentration.
