The diversity-multiplexing trade-off (DMT) in shadowed fading channels is evaluated while the multiple antenna technique is used at the transmit or receive sides. It is shown that, at infinite signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), the asymptotic DMT is not affected by lognormal shadowing. However, the shadowing phenomenon can dramatically reduce the finite SNR DMT.
