Micro air cavity fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) was experimentally demonstrated by femtosecond laser micromachining process followed by optimal fusion-splicing. Two optical paths were provided by the cavity to result in a characteristic, wide spacing MZI spectra.
We report a 4x4 HPCF coupler, HPCF pigtailed VCSEL and PIN PD with a low insertion loss and coupling loss, which can be readily applied in high speed short reach PON.
Chromatic dispersion measurement for a multimode fiber using optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) is proposed. A few-mode fiber was prepared to directly measure the chromatic dispersions of the excited modes using our proposed measurement technique.
We report a novel fiber-collimator using expanded coreless silica fiber, and self assembled polymer lens. It provides a working distance over 6 mm, wide wavelength band of operation, and a stable spot size over 50 micron.
