This paper presents an implementation of Forward Error Correction (F.E.C.) as it is described in the IEEE Std 802.3™-2008. The main goal is to provide a detailed description for every key part of the F.E.C., an implementation that is independent of any proprietary IP-core and a modular design that will be able to fit into any Ethernet or similar to Ethernet network controller with the least effort.
