This report describes 17 patients who had a conjunctivodacryocystorhinostomy lined with full thickness buccal mucous membrane surrounding the shaft of the Jones tube. Of these 17 patients 4 lost their tube, but maintained patency of the now epithelial lined conduit. It is concluded that the possibility of tract closure after tube removal or loss is greatly reduced by utilising this method.
