This paper deals with a cost effective IPT wireless EV battery charger for smart house, which incorporates the simplest quasi -resonant soft switching pulse modulated inverter using the latest SiC-MOSFET into high-frequency isolated DC-DC converter.
Electric Vehicles (EV) offer promise as an effective solution to environmental issues. One of the key technologies to their successful diffusion is the provision of adequate battery/capacitor charging infrastructure. In order to create a charging infrastructure by installing equipment in such as locations as carports in private homes, the inductive power transfer (IPT)-wireless battery charging system...
The government of Japan assumes that a large portion of renewable energy in the near future will be provided by photovoltaic generation systems installed at end consumers. Thus, smart grids in Japan will be established mainly at the distribution and the end-consumer level of power systems. Considering this situation, the Smart Grid Working Group, created inside the Cooperative Study Group on Applications...
An emergency power supply (EPS) using an induction generator with a fly-wheel energy storage is investigated. Two different exciting systems for the wounded rotor winding have been investigated. The principles of the operation and experimental results are shown. The results of start-up and steady state condition indicate that the inverter rating is reduced fairly.
