Combustion of shale from the Volga River region was investigated on a laboratory scale in a tubular quartz reactor 40 mm diameter and the process parameters were evaluated. The flammability temperature, maximum degree of combustion, temperature in the reactor, maximum combustion temperature, and combustion duration for particles 1-2 mm diameter were 275-300°C, 35-36 wt%, 650-700°C, and 1.5-3 min,...
The fluidized-bed gasification of solid fuels was simulated with a mathematical model for a two-stage fluidized-bed combustion process. This process was comprised of (1) partial gasification and (2) final combustion in a boiler. The efficiency of conversion of chemical energy to thermal energy was substantially higher than that of conventional combustion when calculated using the model.
