We demonstrate threefold increased autocorrelation peak from an Yb-fiber CPA system operating with strong self-phase modulation by pre-shaping the pulse spectral-phase. The adaptive control loop used feedback from the output autocorrelation. High-quality 800 fs, 65 muJ recompressed pulses were produced.
We have demonstrated an Yb-fiber laser system incorporating a CFBG stretcher, bandwidth optimised amplifiers and dielectric grating compressor. The system produced 135 W average power with pulse energy of 13.5 muJ. The recompressed pulse duration was 360 fs.
We demonstrate the accuracy of commercial telecommunications industry software for modelling Yb-fiber amplifiers. Simulations enabled optimisation of a broad bandwidth ultra-short pulse four-stage amplifier system. The predicted results were confirmed by experiments.
