The paper discusses the problem of determining the complex eigenfrequencies of surface plasmons on a metal nanowire from the frequency spectrum of the scattered field. We use a fractional-rational approximation of the frequency spectrum based on continued fractions. Q-factors for low and high-order localized surface plasmon modes are investigated.
The behavior of quasi-periodic and aperiodic (chirp) Bragg structures with thin lossy layers was examined. In order to determine the frequency dependence of the reflection coefficient transmission matrix method was used. A deep minimum of the reflection coefficient for any frequency is implemented by proper choice of the thickness of the last thin film and its optical distance to the substrate. The...
This paper presents a simple technique for the calculation of the eigenfrequencies of biconical cavities using the overlapping domain decomposition method in combination with the collocation method, which converges rapidly with increasing number of collocation point pairs and offers a reasonable computation speed.
The influence of various types of distortion of periodicity on the eigen parameters of the layered Bragg resonators has been analyzed. The conditions of reduction of the quality factor of unwanted side Bragg oscillations in quasiperiodic apodized resonators have been determined. It has been proposed the construction of periodic and quasiperiodic structures and apodized Bragg resonators with thin contrast...
The influence of various types of apodization on the eigen parameters of the distributed Bragg reflector, layered Bragg reflectors and resonators has been analyzed. The conditions of reduction of the quality factor of unwanted side Bragg oscillations in quasiperiodic apodized resonators have been determined. It has been proposed the construction of periodic and quasiperiodic structures and apodized...
The method of determining the single oscillation frequency has been proposed. This method is effective at short duration of time-domain signal and at high noise level. The method has been used to analyze the quasi-resonance effect in the open resonance structure formed by the plane-parallel mirrors.
The analysis of the natural frequency and estimation of Q-factor of the open resonator by means of fractional-rational approximation of the reflection response has been considered. An advantage of the proposed technique in comparison with the classical methods has been demonstrated. Dependence of Q-factor of the shielded half-disk dielectric resonator and estimations of the poles and the zeros of...

The problem of selection of convenient model of wideband frequency response of open resonance structures was examined. Importance of influence of the quasi-resonance effects on formation of resonance curve is demonstrated. For quasi-resonance accounting the square root singularity was used.
As frequency-selective devices for millimeter and submillimeter waves, open resonators are widely used. Selective properties of open resonators are defined by their frequency response. In many cases it is convenient to use model for representation of the frequency response of the open resonator. For example, utilization of model considerably simplifies search of complex natural frequencies of the...
