We demonstrate a proof of concept real time HD video stream delivery over 50m 1mm core diameter plastic optical fiber and 3m wireless link employing MB-OFDM UWB technology for in-home networks.
We address the successful transmission and optical dynamic routing of high capacity RF data using an SCM or OFDM format over multi-mode fiber links, by the means of optical frequency multiplication.
Spectral-efficient 40-Gb/s discrete multitone transmission over 100 m of graded-index plastic optical fiber is experimentally demonstrated by intensity-modulation of a 10-GHz DFB-laser (1302 nm) and direct-detection with a 25-mum large diameter photodetector.
The transmission of 64 QAM radio data signals with a data rate up to 150 Mb/s through long single mode fiber links at different frequencies has been experimentally evaluated. The system under study uses the optical frequency multiplication technique for the generation of carriers in the microwave and millimeter-wave bands. Transmission using frequencies of 18.7 GHz, 19.5 GHz, 19.7 GHz and 29 GHz is...
We have made cross-shaped polarization-switching VCSELs for dual-channel optical communications. The polarization of the device is controlled by its asymmetry in geometry and current injection. High switching power ratio of over 20 between two polarization states has been achieved.
