Supernovae Type-Ia (SNeIa) play a significant role in exploring the history of the expansion of the Universe, since they are the best-known standard candles with which we can accurately measure the distance to the objects. Finding large samples of SNeIa and investigating their detailed characteristics have become an important issue in cosmology and astronomy. The current photometric supernova surveys...
Silicon is a promising anode material for lithium-ion battery application due to its high specific capacity. Unfortunately, silicon undergoes a volume expansion of 300∼400% full lithiation and suffers from severe capacity fade, which limit its successful application in commercial cells. In this study, we used in situ acoustic emission and laser microscope observation method for detecting the volume...
Nd3+:LaF3 thin films were grown by pulsed laser deposition. Photoluminescence spectra revealed a dominant peak at 173nm with a decay time of 8.2 ns, which is similar to the results obtained from bulk Nd3+:LaF3 crystal.
