InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well solar cells (MQW‐SCs) with different barrier thicknesses are investigated. By comparing both the material property and device performance, it is demonstrated within our study that thinner barrier thickness in MQW‐SCs favors the transport of photogenerated carriers, but may be also accompanied by larger leakage current. An optimal trade‐off depends on the suitable barrier...
The feasibility of multi-channel visible-light communication using an arrayed 470-nm micro-sized light-emitting-diode emitter, together with a matched fiber array bundle, is demonstrated by transmitting a 250-kHz square wave and a 500-kHz pulse signal in parallel.
We report on an integrated fiber-coupled bi-linear micro-light-emitting diode array, serving as a portable microdisplay system. The fiber bundle transforms the bi-linearly arranged optical signals from the emissive array into a 6-by-8 pixel microdisplay, offering a crisp and clear optical output. The pixel-to-pixel coupling arrangement ensures optical coupling efficiency. Due to the narrow acceptance...
