We realize a 32-channel InP-based arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG) with a 5-GHz channel spacing. The AWG shows approximately 14 dB excess-loss, 9 dB crosstalk, and 21 times 22 mm2 dimensions.
With a 16-arm AWG with amplitude and phase modulators on each arm we generate arbitrary filters and perform dispersion compensation of 2.5-ps pulses across 53 km of field fibre.
We demonstrate a multiple star WDM-PON using BSWDM filter to serve several subscriber groups located at a widely distributed area. It enables to use a single type AWG for second RN and simplifies management issues.
We realize a high-precision 10-channel InP-based arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG) with a 10-GHz channel spacing. The AWG showed approximately 10 dB excess-loss, 10 dB crosstalk, and 8.2 times 6.8 mm2 dimensions.
Integrated-optic waveguide devices become more and more complicated to realize high functionality. Numerical simulations are prerequisite for the design of waveguide devices. Planar lightwave circuits (PLCs) provide various important functionalities for optical wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), time division multiplexing (TOM), code division multiplexing (CDM) systems and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH)...
