This paper describes the planar schottky diode based subharmonic mixers currently being developed at the EHF Key Laboratory of Fundamental Science of Universtity of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Hybrid and integrated GaAs Schottky diode based 330GHz and 420GHz subharmonic mixers are designed, fabricated and measured. Test results show that the minimum conversion loss of 330GHz monolithic...
We find and study the phenomenon of single-mode excitation in a microring resonators dye laser. A submicron thickness silica ring embedded in a simplified hollow-core microstructured optical fiber (SHMOF) is used as a microring resonator. We discuss the factors that influence the single-mode excitation and analyze the principle.
In this paper, a 420GHz GaAs monolithic integrated sub-harmonic mixer based on planar Schottky diode is presented. We combine the diode 3D model, nonlinear model and passive circuit by field-circuit method, then optimize the circuit through harmonic balanced method, finally study the GaAs monolithic integrated 420GHz sub-harmonic mixer. Simulated results for the mixer achieved DSB conversion loss...
In this paper, a 420GHz Sub-Harmonic Mixer based on planar schottky diode is presented. The mixer circuit was fabricated on the 50um thick quartz substrate with a pair of anti-parallel flip-chipped schottky diodes. The planar schottky diode is fabricated in China Electronics Technology Group Corporation-13(CETC-13). Simulated results for the 420 GHz mixer achieved DSB conversion loss of 6.2dB@404GHz...
A compact fiber interferometric probe with high contrast based on a long period grating inscribed in an all-solid photonic bandgap fiber is proposed and demonstrated. The LPG functions as a beam splitter and combiner for the fundamental core mode and LP01 cladding supermodes, and the fiber probe works from the interference between the two guided modes. The sensitivities of the interferometer to strain...
In this paper, a 340GHz GaAs monolithic integrated sub-harmonic mixer based on planar Schottky diode is presented. The mixer circuit is fabricated on a 12um GaAs substrate included planar Schottky diode in a balanced configuration, the passive RF/LO and IF matching networks, filtering circuits, as well as transitions from waveguide to suspended micro-strip. Simulated results for the 340 GHz mixer...
In this paper, we consider the issue of stability criteria for neural networks systems with variable delays. By introducing two triple integral terms and a new augmented term with more delay information to the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional(LKF), some less conservative stability criteria are proposed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed results are demonstrated by two numerical examples.
In this paper, based on the discrete Wirtinger inequality, the problem of summation inequality is investigated. Some new summation inequalities are established, which extend the discrete Jensen inequality effectively. As an application of the summation inequalities, a novel sufficient criterion on asymptotical stability of discrete systems with variable delay is proposed. A numerical example is provided...
In this paper, a rectangular waveguide based in phase H-T power divider is presented. The cavity is split in two with the whole circuit on one half and the metal cover on the other in order to guarantee the performance. Good agreement has been achieved between the numerical and the experimental results. The signal is fed from port 1 and outputted from port 2 and port 3 respectively. The transmission...
In this paper, a 325GHz Sub-Harmonic mixer with 70GHz bandwidth is presented. It will be used for a ultra wideband remote sensing system. The mixer circuit included planar Schottky diode in a balanced configuration, the passive RF/LO and IF matching networks, filtering circuits, as well as transitions from waveguide to suspended micro-strip. Simulated results for the 325GHz mixer achieved DSB conversion...
One hole of a polarization maintain photonic crystal fiber has been selectively infiltrated with liquid crystal. The temperature responding is study and a special property is found near clear temperature of the liquid crystal.
A microfluidic assistant microstructured optical fiber beat-frequency interferometer is proposed and investigated. The interferometer is well controlled by the microfluidic with sensitivity-enhanced envelope and insensitive carrier. The device allows for applications in multi-parameter sensing.
This paper proposes an entropy-based approach to customer value assessment while customers' information are interval numbers. The decision matrix in the form of interval is normalized firstly, In the process of determining the attribute weights, the normalized decision matrix is transformed into a definite one by maximizing entropy of the attributes. Then, the weights of attributes are determined...
In this paper, the fix-tuned 220GHz and 425GHz TMIC membrane sub-harmonic mixers are presented. Simulated results for the 220 GHz mixer yielded DSB conversion loss and NF of 6.7dB and 2.9dB at room temperature, respectively. The optimized conversion loss of the 425GHz mixer is less than 7dB.
We Use Ansoft HFSS to simulate coplanar waveguide (CPW) feeding butterfly slot antenna(CPW-Fed Bow-Tie-Slot). Through the control of the parameter variation, the thickness of the substrate, width of the slit, length of CPW, frequency, etc, we compared and analyzed return loss and obtained the change rules of the antenna performance. Based on the study results, this paper proposed a method to obtain...
Fiber sensors based on Mach-Zehnder interference have attracted considerable attention over the past few decades. All kinds of fibers, including standard single mode fiber (SMFs), multimode fiber (MMFs), photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) and other special fibers, have been explored to fabricate fiber-based Mach-Zehnder interferometers (MZIs) for various applications. Recently, a new type of PCF, so-called...
A high sensitivity temperature sensor based on a Sagnac interferometer consisting of a segment of selectively liquid-filled photonic crystal fiber (SLF-PCF) is proposed and demonstrated. The SLF-PCF is achieved by the high frequency CO2 laser and possesses unique birefringence feature. Numerical and experimental results are presented, and a high sensitivity temperature sensor with sensitivity of ∼−11...

We report on design and analysis of a 183GHz passive five times multiplier. No mechanical tuners and simple circuit topology make it easy and cheap to fabricate the five times multiplier. We design, simulate and optimize the circuit of the five times multiplier in the software of HFSS and ADS. It includes several parts like waveguide to micro-strip transition, ideal LPF, a pair of DBES105a GaAs Schottky...
Port wine stain (PWS) birthmarks are congenital vascular malformations; they usually appear at birth and tend to become darker and thicker with age's growth. Vascular-targeted photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an effective approach among the treatment of PWS. However, due to the arbitrariness of manual operation and existence of pole points for laser radiation, the PWS zone was always cured unevenly in...
