A series of isomorphous random bimetallic NiII-MnII compounds with N-methylpyridinium-4-carboxylate (4-mpc) and azide, have been synthesized and characterized. Two novel two-dimensional (2D) compounds of 3-(5-tetrazolate)-N-oxide-pyridine (L) and azide, have been synthesized and characterized. They are of formula [Cu(II)(L)(N3)]·0.5H2O (1) and [Cd(II)(L)(N3)·(H2O)]·0.5H2O (2).
